2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE

The Toyota Corolla Hybrid has finally arrived and it rolls into 2023 a changed car. Women are going to love the look and feel of it. It is  more efficient, better fuel economy by nearly two miles per gallon with a manufacturer-estimated 32city to an estimated 37mpg while delivering more horsepower. The wide-ranging enhancements to the 12th-generation Corolla exemplify Toyota’s passionate approach to improvement. Corolla has sold over 50 million worldwide and is the world’s top-selling model.

Hybrid All-Wheel Drive: The 2023 Corolla Hybrid now offers the option of all-wheel drive with a big advantage. Instead of transfer gears and a driveshaft to the rear wheels, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive employs a separate rear-mounted electric motor to power the rear wheels when needed. The system works seamlessly and clearly, distributing driving force to the rear wheels to help restrain front wheel slip during off-the-line starts.

Obviously, a Hybrid Frontrunner: Toyota remains the world’s hybrid lead, and there’s more power, there’s more traction, with Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive. The new hybrid system also includes a newly developed lithium-ion battery located under the rear seat to lower the center of gravity and extend trunk cargo capacity. The Corolla Hatchback features a redesigned front grille with chrome-finished accents, along with revised LED headlights. The rear bumper is updated with body color and added chrome-finished accents. The new 18-inch Gloss Graphite-colored alloy wheels are available for the Hatchback. Standard on Corolla XSE a redesigned 7-inch multi-information display (MID). Toyota became  the leader in equipping its vehicles with safety systems featuring automatic emergency braking.

Next-Gen Multimedia: The 2023 Corolla comes equipped with a standard next generation 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system. The new Toyota Audio Multimedia allows for dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, with support for standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. For an enhanced audio experience, the Corolla SE, XSE and XLE grades come with a JBL® Premium Audio system, 9 speakers and 800-watt amplifier and 10-in. subwoofer.

The Strong, Silent Type: Corolla’s model variety is made possible by the Toyota New Global Architecture-C platform (TNGA-C). A super-rigid structure, a low center of gravity and highly refined tuning of the MacPherson-type strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension endow the Corolla with exemplary handling agility, ride comfort and distinctive driving personality. This high-strength platform is fortified through the use of ultra-high-tensile steel as well as the application of structural adhesive technology for enhanced body rigidity and passenger security.

Comfort for All Aboard: Corolla’s cabin is a sanctuary where powertrain and road noise have been minimized thanks to the widespread implementation of sound-absorbing materials. The cockpit provides an engaging interior space that surrounds the driver while offering a spacious environment for all passengers contributing to a premium look and feel. A console tray and front cupholder. The tray can hold small items, such as a smartphone or wallet or, when so equipped, houses the available Qi wireless device charging pad. Terraced cup holders adapt to various-sized beverage containers.

2023 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited

The amazing thing about the Hyundai Tucson is that women love its cutting-edge style. It stands out among the more temperate- looking compact SUV competitors. That doesn’t mean that the Tucson sacrifices practicality or affordability. It boasts both. Hyundai takes a comprehensive approach with the Tucson, offering a wide variety of trims and powertrains. The entry-level powertrain is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder but the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four that’s buttressed by an electric motor—a combination that provides more pep.

What’s New for 2023? For the 2022 model year, the Tucson sees only a few changes for 2023. The panoramic sunroof is now standard on the N-Line trim and the larger 10.3-inch infotainment screen can be found on all XRT trims and up. Adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, and a speed limit assist feature are now standard on all Tucson trims. The SEL Convenience trim offers a balance between features and price. It comes standard with heated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, a sunroof, and a 10.3-inch digital gauge display, among other niceties.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance: A 187-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder is standard and comes with an eight-speed automatic and either front or all-wheel drive. Tucson offers adequate pep for both city driving and highway passing maneuvers, but lead-footed drivers will yearn for more power. The more powerful hybrid and plug-in hybrid models both feel quicker. While the Tucson is no sports car, its handling is confident, its steering is reasonably crisp, and its ride is agreeable. What’s most striking about the Tucson’s driving demeanor is how quiet and refined it feels when cruising; it’s these traits that give the SUV a sense of luxury that is rare in this class.

Fuel Economy and MPG: The EPA estimates 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway w/ front-wheel drive.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo: The Tucson displays a basic but modern dashboard design with a digital gauge display, a push-button shifter, and a touch-sensitive control panel for the climate-control system and infotainment. The new Tucson continues the trend with an interior filled with quality materials and luxury features. The Tucson’s rear seat space and cargo area are both larger than the outgoing model. It provides more passenger comfort and practicality. Behind the back row, fits nine carry-on suitcases, and 22 luggage bags with the seatbacks stowed.

Infotainment and Connectivity: A standard 8.8-inch touchscreen is integrated into the dashboard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; a larger 10.3-inch screen with built-in navigation features such as SiriusXM satellite radio and an upgraded Bose stereo system. Other high-tech offerings include Hyundai’s digital key, smartphone app, which provides lock and unlock features remote start option.

2024 Mazda CX 90

2024 Mazda CX 90 has women looking at its body and style. Women are saying yes to the 2024 CX 90  It’s the all-new three-row midsized SUV from Mazda. “All new” means exactly that: It uses a brand-new platform; it has Mazda’s first-ever inline six-cylinder engine. There’s a newly designed and built eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s a Plug-in hybrid model. Being able to place the engine longitudinally rather than transverse, as is often dictated by a front-wheel-drive design. Besides the impressive driving dynamics of the CX-90s, a step inside the finely crafted cabin points to the fact that this is a bold attempt to move the brand upscale.

The base CX-90 Turbo has a 280-horsepower, turbocharged 3.3-liter inline six-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. This powerful version is the Turbo S, uses the same basic engine as the Turbo but bumped up to 340 hp, giving it the most horsepower and torque of any production engine from Mazda. Passing in traffic is effortless. The engine is happiest in middle of the rev range, as it can become gutless as redline approaches. It’s linked to an eight-speed automatic of Mazda’s own design, with wet clutches performing quick, nearly seamless shifts.

The start-stop system did balk a few times from a quick stop, making for a jerky getaway. But the CX-90’s engine provides an overall smooth experience. Mazda CX-90 is the brand’s new three-row crossover, and it’s the clearest signal yet of the automaker’s intention to move upmarket. Mazda has gone in a different direction than brands like Toyota or Honda, long considered its direct competitors, to build a vehicle that BMW, Mercedes, Acura, Audi, and other luxury brands. This is not just a facelift of the current CX-9, either. The CX-90 is totally new, with a new platform, new straight-six engine, and a mild-hybrid system among other developments.

There’s also a plug-in hybrid model that combines a four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and 17.8 kWh battery. The CX-90 is a compelling entry in the big crossover class, with specs and prices that should make Honda and BMW shoppers alike take notice. Pricing begins at $59,950 for the 3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus. Mazda charges a $1,375 destination on all CX-90s. The three-row SUV can be configured to carry six, seven, or eight occupants.
